This is a beautiful slinky vintage silver chain and faux pearl belt, circa 1950 - 1960s.

When I bought the belt a large section of the pearls had come off, and the chain had been attached together to make it into a necklace. I re-sewed the pearls and reinforced the stitching on the remainder of the belt. I attached a new, vintage style, clasp and using the original chain I returned the belt to its original style. I added a vintage pearl at the end of the chain to finish it :-)

I am passionate about repairing broken jewellery so that it can be worn and loved once again. This vintage chain belt or belly chain would look great with jeans or a dress.

I have had the absolute joy of repairing many pieces of jewellery (I call it “rescuing it from the bin”), and some of my favourite pieces to fix are antique maireener shell necklaces.

Maireener shells are found only in Tasmania and became very fashionable in the late Victorian period. The shells are teeny tiny, and each one has been cleaned and hand drilled, then threaded onto a necklace.

I have just purchased four more broken maireener shell necklaces and repaired them so that they can be loved and worn once again. There are two pink necklaces (one is a pale pink, the other a deeper pink, and two different sized pale green necklaces. All of them shimmer with the beautiful AB rainbow colours that these shells are highly prized for.

One of a Kind Reworked Antique Victorian Vulcanite Cameo + Chunky Pearl Necklace | Victorian mourning jewellery antique vulcanite necklace

This is a stunning statement necklace with chunky genuine freshwater pearls and an antique cameo.

I have used a striking antique, Victorian vulcanite cameo and combined it with genuine pearls. When I bought the cameo it had been set as a brooch and the clasp was snapped, so it was unwearable. I removed the brooch pin and have made it into a pendant.

This Victorian pendant is over 140 years old and in otherwise very good condition. Made from vulcanite, it has taken more of a dark brown colour as it has aged. It is framed in a brass setting.

This is an elegant one of a kind set comprising of a pair of earrings and necklace. I made both pieces using a stash of vintage pinky-coral coloured genuine coral beads and coordinating vintage nautilus shells. The nautilus shells on the earrings are simple shells are the natural shells, while the shell on the necklace has been filled with resin on the back - please see photos.

I finished the pieces with 24 carat gold plated findings and signature Shh by Sadie tag.

Wear them together and separately - the colour of the coral is super flattering and they are beautiful statement pieces. And the best thing is that not only are they sustainable because they are made from reused materials, they are also one of a kind and so you will never see anyone else wearing them!
