Antique Victorian Engraved Silver Belcher Chain Bracelet

I bought this beautiful antique bracelet at the Malvern Flea market in January. It had several vintage and antique coins attached to it and my husband spotted it for me because he knows I like chunky bracelets!

When I got it home and began to clean it, I noticed that near the clasp there was an engraving, which on closer inspection was the date 27th Nov 1847 in old script style lettering.

I was very excited to spot this engraving and to discover that the chain was approximately 178 years old. I decided that as much as I loved the coin charm bracelet, this chain was too special to be hidden by coins, and so I bought ANOTHER old silver bracelet and have attached them to that, instead.

I left one soldered coin on the 1847 bracelet, it was near the clasp and I thought a Victorian bracelet deserved one small Victorian coin. It is a sterling silver 1888 four pence featuring Queen Victoria.

This special 1847 antique sterling silver belcher chain bracelet is now listed on my Etsy and looking for a new guardian.

Antique Tasmanian maireener shell necklaces

I have had the absolute joy of repairing many pieces of jewellery (I call it “rescuing it from the bin”), and some of my favourite pieces to fix are antique maireener shell necklaces.

Maireener shells are found only in Tasmania and became very fashionable in the late Victorian period. The shells are teeny tiny, and each one has been cleaned and hand drilled, then threaded onto a necklace.

I have just purchased four more broken maireener shell necklaces and repaired them so that they can be loved and worn once again. There are two pink necklaces (one is a pale pink, the other a deeper pink, and two different sized pale green necklaces. All of them shimmer with the beautiful AB rainbow colours that these shells are highly prized for.

They are available on my Etsy shop now…however the last one sold in less than 48 hours!

One of a kind reworked vintage coral and nautilus shell jewellery set

This is an elegant one of a kind set comprising of a pair of earrings and necklace. I made both pieces using a stash of vintage pinky-coral coloured genuine coral beads and coordinating vintage nautilus shells. The nautilus shells on the earrings are simple shells are the natural shells, while the shell on the necklace has been filled with resin on the back - please see photos.

I finished the pieces with 24 carat gold plated findings and signature Shh by Sadie tag.

Wear them together and separately - the colour of the coral is super flattering and they are beautiful statement pieces. And the best thing is that not only are they sustainable because they are made from reused materials, they are also one of a kind and so you will never see anyone else wearing them!

Pink teardrop pearl earrings

An elegant, limited edition pair of beautiful large teardrop pink pearl earrings.

I have made these stunning pearl earrings from a small stash of shimmering pink shell pearls that I purchased. The pearls are absolutely beautiful quality, shell pearls - shell pearls are made of the same substance as pearls (nacre), but have been made by hand and so there is more versatility with colour, shape and size. I have combined the pink teardrop shape shell pearls with smaller, genuine freshwater pearls, each one wrapped with wire and attached individually by hand.

I have finished the earrings with silver plated chain and earring hooks.

These earrings are elegant and timeless and will be the perfect earring for almost any occasion.

Beautiful rare pink Victorian Maireener shell necklace

I bought this beautiful pink Maireener shell necklace as a broken piece and have restrung it, using its original clasp so that it can be worn and loved once more.

These delicate Maireener shell necklaces have been painstakingly made by Tasmanian Aboriginal women for hundreds of years. Each tiny, shimmering shell is collected, cleaned, and drilled by hand. These antique necklaces are treasured, and I am thrilled to be able to offer this necklace so that it can be loved, treasured and enjoyed once again.

This necklace is a string of beautiful, shimmering pink shells and will make a wonderful addition to any jewellery collection :-)

Available in my Etsy shop.
