In January I met with fabulously colourful knitwear designer Becky Dodman to discuss a commissioned wedding necklace. Becky LOVES colour (quite possibly even more than I do!), and had a list of elements she wanted included, like the cute lil robot for her now husband, a rose quartz arrow head, and lots of bright bold colours.
Well working on such a personal project is terrifying and exciting at the same time!! I was so honoured and touched that Becky had chosen me to create her necklace, and really wanted to create a piece that was as wonderful as she’d imagined.
We had decided on six different ‘straps’ or woven segments, and Becky wanted:
a robot
the words “kiss me'“
a love heart
diamonds / zigzags
the eye symbol
the word “Si”
And so I got busy designing patterns and ideas! I’ve shared some of the progress and design work below, alongside photographs from Becky’s big day.

Hello everyone!
I’ve never had a review of my workshops before, and so I was excited to read this one written by Amie at ALFA Design. She brought her daughter Freya along to one of my children’s bead workshops over the Easter holidays.
Freya made herself a gorgeous bracelet and a very colourful necklace!

Let your hair down, relax and come play with beads!
You’ll choose from hundreds of beads - freshwater pearls, glass, Czech crystal, wooden, vintage, coral chips, semi precious stones, sequins and more.
You will design and make your own bead necklace to take home with you.
Sadie will teach you the basic methods for stringing jewellery, using pliers and simple jewellery findings.
All materials provided. Suitable for all levels.
